Initially, he wanted to write a Thank you Note to Santa for completing his Christmas wishlist (and no, he did receive any boyfriend beer gifts hee hee), then I told him I have a few Thank you cards stash in my supplies. So he decided to write all of the people who sent/gave him gifts especially since he knows how to write with correct spelling at this age.

This is his new Holiday tradition (and perhaps birthday tradition too), to send out Thank You cards for people who remembers him. Ain’t he the sweetest?

The same Godparent who gave the Perplexus, gifted Baba his 3rd Bible. I guess I am the happiest when Baba receives books as presents especially Bible books. More than the intellect, I want him to have good values in life. No matter what jobs he choose in the future, may it be a doctor, lawyer or Reservations Clerk Jobs, I am assured that he will do it according to God’s will.

What is nice about this Children’s bible are the reflections/questions at the end of every short story. Every single word that is written in this bible is within the sight words that are supposed to be met by 1st graders. Truly, a Children’s Bible for keeps!

It’s a hump day and that means, I’m working from home. I also make sure that every Wednesday, I try to update this blog.

Looking back at the Holidays, I realized that Baba got everything he wanted on his Christmas wishlist. How lucky could he be! With all the Santa Aunts & Uncles, Santa Grandparents and Godparents, and of course, Santa Mom & Dad, he got the sweetest day gifts he could ever imagine. But I would like to commend 1 Godparent who chose to buy him something that is not on his wishlist.

This Perplexus puzzle ball has been awarded several times as an outstanding toy for kids. Baba got this for Christmas and for once, he was quiet on one corner. However, we were amazed that he was able to overcome almost 64 barriers in less than 10 minutes. This toy definitely improves his focus and brain cells. He got this Original Perplexus with 100 barriers and difficulty level of 6. You must check out this toy, even as adults your focus will be challenged!

Tomorrow will be Baba’s last day of school. Winter break ends by January 2.
Today, they had their Winter Celebration, it was a low-key celebration (nothing like they need some huge amount of cheap morgan dollars). But, like how all the other school celebrations went, this was for the books. Kids are so easy to please right? It was a fun and memorable celebration. Here’s sharing some of the output from today’s celebration. A polar express train and reindeer made by Baba. Cute eh?

This article from Shine.Yahoo.com is very helpful for Mothers like me who want to make sure that their kids are on the right track when it comes to behavioral skills. I still have 3 years to go before Baba reaches 9 years old but I really hope that we’d continuously bring out the best in him and be the well-mannered boy we want to keep forever. I know time flies when you have kids so I better take this motherhood job seriously. Here is the list and off I go to check these band saw blades.

Manner #1
When asking for something, say “Please.”

Manner #2
When receiving something, say “Thank you.”

Manner #3
Do not interrupt grown-ups who are speaking with each other unless there is an emergency. They will notice you and respond when they are finished talking.

Manner #4
If you do need to get somebody’s attention right away, the phrase “excuse me” is the most polite way for you to enter the conversation.

Manner #5
When you have any doubt about doing something, ask permission first. It can save you from many hours of grief later.

Manner #6
The world is not interested in what you dislike. Keep negative opinions to yourself, or between you and your friends, and out of earshot of adults.

Manner #7
Do not comment on other people’s physical characteristics unless, of course, it’s to compliment them, which is always welcome.

Manner #8
When people ask you how you are, tell them and then ask them how they are.

Manner #9
When you have spent time at your friend’s house, remember to thank his or her parents for having you over and for the good time you had.

Manner #10
Knock on closed doors — and wait to see if there’s a response — before entering.

Manner #11
When you make a phone call, introduce yourself first and then ask if you can speak with the person you are calling.

Manner #12
Be appreciative and say “thank you” for any gift you receive. In the age of e-mail, a handwritten thank-you note can have a powerful effect.

Manner #13
Never use foul language in front of adults. Grown-ups already know all those words, and they find them boring and unpleasant.

Manner #14
Don’t call people mean names.

Manner #15
Do not make fun of anyone for any reason. Teasing shows others you are weak, and ganging up on someone else is cruel.

Manner #16
Even if a play or an assembly is boring, sit through it quietly and pretend that you are interested. The performers and presenters are doing their best.

Manner #17
If you bump into somebody, immediately say “Excuse me.”

Manner #18
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and don’t pick your nose in public.

Manner #19
As you walk through a door, look to see if you can hold it open for someone else.

Manner #20
If you come across a parent, a teacher, or a neighbor working on something, ask if you can help. If they say “yes,” do so — you may learn something new.

Manner #21
When an adult asks you for a favor, do it without grumbling and with a smile.

Manner #22
When someone helps you, say “thank you.” That person will likely want to help you again. This is especially true with teachers!

Manner #23
Use eating utensils properly. If you are unsure how to do so, ask your parents to teach you or watch what adults do.

Manner #24
Keep a napkin on your lap; use it to wipe your mouth when necessary.

Manner #25
Don’t reach for things at the table; ask to have them passed.
